problems. live picture to show you from napa. rain hasn't let up in the north bay. a little lighter than it was before. still very soggy. since wednesday santa rosa, you're creeping up on 1 half foot of rainfall since wednesday. nearly 3 inches of rain for san francisco. more than 2 inches of rain for oakland. the rain is going to pick up again after midnight. heavy rain is likely throughout the morning tomorrow. it will be windy. we have the russian river and napa river under an official flood warning. a flash flood watch is still in effect through tomorrow for the north day, for the mountains and for the peninsula coast. there's a lot to talk about. we'll get through it and talk about what's going to happen after round three. >> heavy rain has people nervous. napa and russian rivers are under flood warnings. they're expected to rise above flood stage. don knapp is in napa. >> reporter: napa residents have been warned about the flooding. especially those living close to streams and the river. now they're bracing for the night. others are still working at it. crews were working into

napa river that's expected to rise and really impact some of the low valleys in that particular area. you'll notice the showers are stretching all the way into the north bay over towards vallejo, even just got done dealing with a very strong storm there. more is on the way. rainfall totals have been impressive. anywhere from 1.5 inches in san jose up to 5.5 inches in santa rosa. up to 4 to 5 inches additional rain is on the way for tomorrow. we'll time all of this and let you know when and what is going to be the heaviest of this final series of storms to move through the bay area in just a little while. >> thank you, anthony. there are also flight concer there are also flood concerns on the napa river. today in downtown napa, the river is running at just 12 feet. that is well below flood level of 25 feet. >> you know, tomorrow i think is the day that we're kind of worried about more than any day this week. because it's the end of the big, supposed to be storming pretty bad. but we're not too concerned. >> the city of napa is invested extensively in flood protection improvements

week, but the ground is already sat ratur. napa valley has been getting hit hard. the russian river up and over flood banks. now they will ease back into the riverbeds, but with additional rainfall today, it may go back into flood stage there. there is the latest video showing a couple glimmers of sunshine, that was short-lived yesterday. how much rainfall have we seen in the last few days? in a six-day total almost two feet of rain at mount sast ta. sterling city, 21 inches of rainfall. sims, california, 17.9. this is tremendous rainfall for a nontropical area. it has a tropical connection, because it's coming from the direction of hawaii, but still a mid and northern latitude situation. seattle and portland seeing some rain, snow at the higher elevations. if anything is a saving grace, it's a little cooler this go-around, so some of the moisture getting locked up in higher elevations in the form of snow. most of that is well north of san francisco and napa valley. this will sink further south, we'll get another piece of energy later on today that will spin up across the bay area a

in napa. cloudy and a warmer day today and tomorrow. cooler weather heads our way on tuesday and with that we will look for a storm system to arrive on wednesday. it's a fast mover. anywhere from a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch of rain is anticipated for wednesday into thursday in the north bay. high temperatures today in the 60s. that's a little bit above normal. we should be in the upper 50s, to about 60. so a modest warmup today and tomorrow. and that's due to a slight offshore flow compliments of a ridge of high pressure that is building in to the eastern pacific, and as it does we are looking at that flow bringing some gusty winds down from the higher elevations. and also with the setup like this we are looking for a high fire danger in san diego. so really much of california will be dominated by this area of high pressure which deflects the storm systems to the north and brings that sustenance and dryer, warmer air our way. fast forwarding into tuesday night, 9:00, we have rain in sonoma county, and by wednesday, before the morning commute, looks like we w

. flood warnings for the napa river were canceled. some residents prepared for the worst though emptying sandbags around their properties. heavy rainstorms of course brought the water level within three feet of going over its banks. but it did not crest. this was the russian river in guerneville over the weekend. flood warnings were also canceled there. the river crested at 16 feet about an hour ago. the highest recorded flood in guerneville occurred in 1986 when that river reached a monstrous number of feet, 49 feet. that must have been something. >>> and the flood threat for the truckee river in california, nevada, is over, as well. the storm turned out to be colder than expected turning a lot of the rain to snow and dropping snow levels down to 7,000 feet. truckee river is now expected to crest below flood stage. >>> the good news is i think we are getting a break from all this weather. >> yeah. no rain today. we are going to get some showers during the week but nothing like over the weekend. >> no. i mean, those were amazing totals we saw from the storms, almost 16" in some
